Frequently asked questions
A few honest answers to the questions everyone asks me.
Why follow your Copenhagen city guide?
+
Because it's my second home. Being half Danish, I've been going to Copenhagen since I was a kid, and I've seen the city grow into one of the most exciting food and design destinations in Europe. My picks aren't based on a quick weekend visit, they come from years of going back, eating, exploring, and asking my Danish family for their own favorites.
When is the best time to visit Copenhagen?
+
Late spring and summer are magical. The days are endless, everyone is out, the harbor is full of swimmers, and you'll catch the city at its most alive. Autumn has a cozy hygge energy that I love too, especially for café hopping. Winter is colder and darker, but the Christmas markets at Tivoli are worth a trip on their own.
How many days do I need in Copenhagen?
+
Three to four full days is the sweet spot. Enough to explore the main neighborhoods (Nørrebro, Vesterbro, Christianshavn, Refshaleøen), eat your way through the bakeries, do a harbor swim, and even take a day trip to Louisiana Museum or up the coast.
Is Copenhagen expensive?
+
I won't lie to you, it is. But there are plenty of ways to enjoy it without breaking the bank. Bakeries, street food halls, public swims, parks, free architecture spots… A lot of what makes Copenhagen special is actually free or very affordable. The trick is knowing where to go (which is kind of the whole point of my guide).
What's the best neighborhood to stay in?
+
It depends on your vibe. Indre By (city center) is super convenient if it's your first time, you're close to everything. Nørrebro is more local, cooler, foodie heaven. Vesterbro is trendy, lively, great for nightlife and design lovers. Christianshavn is quieter, by the water, perfect for a romantic stay.
